I like this recipe a lot that I decided to attempt it to share with family and friends. And I always forgot to trim away the top brown layer of sponge cake, so can see it obviously
Mille Crepes Cake. Is a classic French cake consisting of 20 layers of paper thin crepes, each separated by a brush of French pastry cream. First Love Patisserie which we are having is actually a Jakarta label, hand-making this cake with Japanese recipe, but only with 15 layers of crepes (their webpage photos show at least 20 layers)
This is a one batter recipe, we can't control the thickness of each layer in the cake. The bottom layer is dense and taste like our chinese kueh, the centre layer is soft and custard-like and the top layer is a souffle cake texture

Many were asking for the recipe when I shared the photo on Facebook but I didn't share the recipe on the same day because this is the first time I use this ratio of coconut milk, water and agar-agar powder to make the kaya layer, I need to observe if it would stay as it is for days

As for this recipe, I chose to prepare in a simple flavour which is hassle free. And one of the many famous steamed bun is Thousands Layer Steamed Cake, which animal lard & sugar are both used in the folding
