1. Beat
butter, sugar and vanilla until pale and creamy.
2. Add
in the egg and beat well.
3. Add
in the sieved flour and baking powder and salt and mix into a dough.
4. Roll
the dough out to a thickness of 5mm and use different sizes of star shape cookie cutter and cut out the star shapes. Place the dough on a lined tray and baked in a preheated oven of 170
5. To
make the icing glaze, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix into a smooth consistency. Pipe and glaze the star cookies and allow them to dry a little before sprinkling with the sprinkles.
6. Once
the icing glaze has dry completely, stack them up with the biggest star cookies to the smallest star cookies.
These cookies are great for decoration. Compared to Scottish shortbread I made last year for Christmas, I had doubts these would be any good with only four ingredients
